Hi,

I tried to create subgroups with the same name, but i receive this messenger "Group with the same name already exists".

Example:
  • Domain1 > DCs
  • Domain2 > DCs (Here the error appears, because the group same name).
Is possible able this in the next version of Terminals????

I absolutely agree with this request and would also like this changed. Not being able to have DEV, UAT and PROD subgroup in each of the major application areas I am responsible for is quite inconvenient. I find myself having to do awkward workarounds such as repeating the parent group name in the subgroup name.
Instead of a hierarchy like the following:
CORP\SharePoint\DEV
CORP\SharePoint\UAT
CORP\SharePoint\PROD
CORP\SQL2010\DEV
CORP\SQL2010\UAT
CORP\SQL2012\PROD

I end up with this:
CORP\SharePoint\SharePoint-DEV
CORP\SharePoint\SharePoint-UAT
CORP\SharePoint\SharePoint-PROD
CORP\SQL2010\SQL2010-DEV
CORP\SQL2010\SQL2010-UAT
CORP\SQL2010\SQL2010-PROD

It kind of works, but is really ugly.

Thanks David,

I hope a one resolution our fix active this for next versions of Terminal.

In time: For, example, the MRemoteNG, have this enable a long time a go, ever.

I had this same issue, but made a work around using the following :

For your 1st Datacentre or class of servers, location, etc, create the root folder, i.e. Scotland, then your next load of servers using the first letter of the DC name, so you would end up with something like :

Scotland
S_Dev
S_PreProd
S_Prod
LIverpool
L_Dev
L_PreProd
Portsmouth
P_Dev
P_etc

Hope this helps. :)

Groups and Favorites require unique names because of historical reasons. After we replace current format of template, we will be free to allow multiple groups and hierarchies and favorites with duplicate names.
Additionally you can run Terminals with favorite name as an argument to open the favorite after start. This also needs to be resolved...
