Release Notes

The major change in this release is that Terminals has been upgraded to require RDP Client 6 to be installed for creating RDP connections.
Backwards compatibility with older RDP clients is no longer supported so please update your client to the latest versions if needed.
Details on updating to RDP Client 6 can be found on the Domumentation page.

With the update to RDP client 6 we can now support these new functions that have been added:
  • Support for advanced RDP 6 functions
  • Terminal Server Gateway support added (Please add testing results here)
  • Ability to select individual Drives and Devices added (Device selection is on or off at the moment)

Other updates include:
  • credential and history xml files saved with correct encoding
  • Auto Scale desktop size now has option to set the resolution to auto scale to (See Here)
  • Full screen view no longer has scroll bars on window.
  • Fixed window closing behaviour (Telnet\SSH\VNC)
  • Allow selecting "all" drives for redirection

Reviews for this release

Actually preview it to the 2.0 release from March 2012. The terminal window is better, has more options, and doesn't wrap stuff as oddly.

WARNING: Your passwords are NOT SAFE with this program. The "master password" is totally useless. Check out http://terminalspwdump.codeplex.com and see for yourself.

I'm using this on Windows 7 Enterprise, works great. The best part is that it easily allows for features taken out of the official Windows RDP GUI (not that you can't still get those through the commandline). Therefore, you can get it to perform better in my experience (by enabling compression mainly).

I am using rdp,ssh and telnet and they all work fairly well. It would be nice if the telnet allowed you to change the backspace key. My biggest problem though is that the screen disappears and I have to kill the session and start over?

I have downloaded and installed the 1.9a release. It works fine for RDP sessions, but it does not work for SSH and VNC connections. The logfiles are also missing. I will post some questions in the forums regarding these issues.

Always impressive in it's ability to deliver! This has been an invaluable tool for managing a large amount of servers. It allows a savvy admin to create order from chaos.

Very nice tool, but unfortunately you can't share drives via RDP. I'm on Windows x64.

This is a great tool but the functionality to share drives under RDP is not working under Win7 x64.

I have been looking for this program for years. RDP management is GREAT and does everything I need (I have about 20 different RDP). It also solves the problem of saving credentials for multiple RDP connections (with different ports) on the same IP address/server. It's the best tabbing thing that's happened since tabbed browsing:) Note: I am using 1.9a and I am not experiencing any issues.

I had to rollback to 1.8c. 1.9a is not working under XP x64 with RDP6 client. I got a FATAL error in the log FATAL 2010-06-01 09:31:42,910 6703ms Terminals Connect - Connecting to RDP System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80040154): Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG))

I'm using 1.9a on a Windows 7 machine. It works great, it fast, no connecting problems. There is one small thing, sometimes when i connect to a machine it takes a bit longer to connect. Is there a changelog between 1.9 beta and 1.9a?

This version works great for me. And it seems to load and run quite a bit faster than the previous releases. I have been using Terminals for some time now...very easy to use and works great! Windows XP SP3

Terminals is a great program I use everyday (thanks to all the contributors) but 1.9a didn't work for me at all (I've rolled back to 1.8c). The frame came up but RDP session never appears in the main window, which was always just a lot of gray. Win 2K3, 64 bit, I did install the recommended RDP version. Still, many thanks for a great program.
